Cooling-off period

1. What is a Cooling-Off Period?

If you have just registered AmOnline or bound your mobile device AmOnline profile to a personal mobile device, you will need to serve pre-defined cooling-off period. This is a security measure to temporarily restrict transactions via AmOnline. Full access will be restored automatically after the cooling-off period has ended.

From the end of June 2024 onwards, you will need to serve pre-defined cooling-off period if you increase your transaction limit. Meanwhile you can still transact with your previous limit. Refer to “Transaction Limit” FAQ for more details.

2. How do I know if I am serving cooling-off period and when does it end?
During your cooling-off period, a widget on your Home Dashboard in your AmOnline App will display the end date and time of the cooling-off period.

You will also receive reminder notifications about when you will be able to start transacting through AmOnline. Once the cooling-off period ends, you will receive a push notification informing you that you can start performing or approving transactions via AmOnline.
3. I have served my cooling-off period as stated in the AmOnline App, but Why am I still unable to perform any transaction?

If you are unable to perform any transaction, please relaunch the app and try again.

4. I need to perform a transaction urgently. Can I skip the cooling-off period temporarily?
No, you can’t. You must fully serve the cooling-off period.
5. Why can’t I change my AmOnline Transaction Limit?
As part of security control, newly registered AmOnline customers are only allowed to perform transactions up to the pre-defined limit within the pre-defined period set by the bank.
